Hi Minoo,

Thank you, I am working on a serie of the dandelion about all the points of transformation of this floral. The idea is to put the different stadia in one frame for our kitchen.

Warm greetz,
Albert Jacobs

Fabulous macro shot!!! Super DOF, great details, love it against that dark background and excellent (com)position... starting of in the corner... very well done!!!

;-DD

Roberto Arcari Farinetti   {K:178244} 5/1/2007
oh.. wahta a superior other shot my dear albert!!!
best congrats on FC!

Hi Petal,

Congratulations with your featured critique and thank you for your nice comment.

Vriendelijke groet,
Albert Jacobs

Hi dear Minoo,

Started in 2006 with this project. I took a few hundred shots of this wildflower. But I am content, because I believe I have 4 of the 6 shots that I need for the frame.
I still trying with changes in angle, lightfall, highkey, lowkey and so on. I am convinced that in the end I will look back with satisfaction to this project.

Warm greetz,
Albert Jacobs

You're welcome, dear Albert, and I understand about your lack of time.:)

Albert Jacobs   {K:9447} 5/2/2007
Hi dear Srna,

Thanks for your enthousiast feedback. I decided for a while to publish nothing till few. With my busy job and all the interests I have, make me always dealing with lack of time and so I have to decide about priorities or get crazy.
The last I don't desire, so for a while I want to spend my time to visit the nice portfolios presented here, like yours, for closer views and learning. I think this is a good change for me in this most busy period of my work.
This year's vacation (june) we'll go for the first time to Italy for 3 till 4 weeks, so I think I find the rest and shooting oppertunities there.

Warm greetz & huggss..
Albert Jacobs

Hi Roberto,

Thanks for your enthousiast feedback. Life is too busy for me right now (work), so I decided for while to publish nothing till few. I want to spend some time to visit the beautiful portfolios presented here, like yours, for closer views and learning. But after these crazy weeks are over I will return.

Warm greetz for you and yours,
Albert Jacobs

Albert Jacobs   {K:9447} 5/2/2007
Hi my dear friend Michele,

Thanks for your detailed and nice feedback.
Life is to busy for me right now. I've learned my lessons in the past. "He who wants all, will get nothing".
So, I decided to publish nothing till few till these coming crazy weeks are over. I shall spend some time on visiting the nice portfolios here, like yours, for closer views and learning.
Finally, I shall return with new shots, after some rest and getting new inspiration.

Warm greetz & huggss...
Albert Jacobs

Astrid Quast   {K:1230} 5/4/2007
LOVELY! Its so perfect!!!

Albert Jacobs   {K:9447} 5/4/2007
Hi Astrid,

Thanks, for your kind words. Somewhere else in my reactions om this picture I revealed the trick (at re-comment on Roberto, I think).

I started with real time trying, but that didn't lead to the desired result. So I found an alternative solution.

Warm greetz & huuggss..
Albert Jacobs

NN     {K:26787} 5/6/2007
Hi Albert! How did you get them to dance like ballerinas? :) Wonderful work!!!

Albert Jacobs   {K:9447} 5/6/2007
Hi dear Elisa,

Thank you. The human perception can easily be misguided. We want to see what we like, even if it's not real. I experienced a while and found out that shooting "dancing like ballerinas" as reality is very difficult.
But I wanted to shoot this effect, so I experimented a bit further and found an alternative approach, to create the suggestion of "dancing".
How I did this is explained by the other more or less similar shot. The most difficult part was creating the depth.

Warm greetz,
Albert Jacobs

Mike D. Ontario   {K:389} 5/6/2007
Excellent shot Albert - DOF, motion, all great.

One question for you: I am wondering why you have the the seed so close to the right/bottom edge of the frame. It does make the image look ... 'edgy' - is that the look you were aiming for?

Albert Jacobs   {K:9447} 5/6/2007
Hi Mike,

I wanted the seed in that corner. Maybe it's indeed a bit to far to the edge, as I see now.
A lesson for next shots, to keep a little more distance from the corners. Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it !

Friendly greetz,
Albert Jacobs
