Re your comment to David for IR help.
Here is a rundown
You need a R72 Ir filter,The Canon lenses aren`t the best for IR,check out Sergio Cardenas IR images for the lens he uses and ask him for help[he shoots Canon too]
For color IR,check this out

For b&w
Open image and go to channel mixture,check monochrome box
and manipulate to get the tones you like.Levels adjustment,
Brightness/contrast, basically that`s it.
The software is Photoshop.
