About While cycling, i noticed the evening light created a nice glow on the trees. I didn't have a tripod with me, so i tried to use the smallest apperture i could use without creating to much motion blur. Therefore, the DoF is not what i would like it be.
I enhanced the saturation a little to accentuate the glow on the trees.

Nice hand held capture for that speed and lens apperture! I love the lighting effect! Great eye... Fantastic color and repetitive pattern of the trees....

Enjoying view,
Congrats!

Momento Eterno (Carmen Spitznagel)   {K:1016} 5/3/2007
i like the warm light on the trees and for my opinion the dof is really good. the idea of the tree rows along the way leading the view into the photo is excellent but i think the realization could be improved. for my opinion the position taking the photo is too high above the ground, maybe crouching or laying on the ground would show more of the way and maybe a little bit more to the left or the right to show more of the winding way to bring depth to the photo. sorry for my bad english,
regards
carmen

As CC, I agree with Eterno that maybe pulling back would have allowed more of the path in a vertical crop, which is really what the photo is. 'Magic hour', sunset, is when nature hits the leaves and branches with what look like colored spots. And there's no morning condensation to stop it.

Bel paesaggio! La luce è stupenda!

Excellent perspective with good light.

I love the image itself, but I wish the focus was a bit sharper. However, using the smaller aperture, and having low light doesn't give you much to work with without a tripod. You achieve a nice "dreamy" effect, and the image itself almost looks like it was drawn. Nice job overall!

A magical place - I would have liked more of the pathway showing, but at this same angle, not from the side, like you did in "Evening again" - Hope you will go back there some day, tripod under the arm - these silver birches (?) make a stunning picture, especially at sunset.

Lydia, thanks for your suggestion. Actually, i am planning to return to the spot a number of times throughout the year. I will try it out.

The trees are grey alder (Alnus incana) and are related to the birch.
