Del Metheny   {K:25494} 5/16/2007
That little touch of red in the birds wings livens up the entire photo. Yes, we even had this bird in rural Kansas in spite of the dry conditions. Del.

Great shot of the redwing blackbird Dave, nice to see the catchlight in the eye, very nice light and exposure, it's difficult to show detail in the feathers on these black birds, you have done a very good job. Very nice composition with the angled post, Well done my friend,
All the best,
Joe

Great crop Dave, he looks great sitting on a fence post with the contrasting background. There are lots of them here too. They are always nice to listen to, and the tough part is getting a proper exposure on them. Well done.

Wonderful compostion here Dave. The blured grass in the background really helps this bird stand out nicely.

Happy to see this blackbird, Dave. There are a lot of blackbirds here but this redwing is unusually for me.

Dave: Ah yes, the Red-winged Blackbirds are everywhere. They become such outrageous characters in the spring breeding season. We have one we call "Feather" who comes back every year. His name is derived from one deviant wing feather that is alway askew every year. It doesn't bother him that we can detect. Nice catch and great composition with the tilted fence post.

Janet Wechter   {K:2929} 5/25/2007
Nice composition and expsoure. I would love to catch one of these guys with their wings in flight. The colors are really pretty.

Dave,

One of the birds I saw quite a lot of especially on the marshes outside our hotel in Salmon Arm but couldn't get a decent photo.

I had a fantastic time in Alberta and BC (as you'll see from my postings here)

Neil
