About Three days spent visiting two nazi camps in and near Oswiecin in August 2002. Known as Auschwitz and Birkenaw, the two camps were liberated in January 1945 The remains of the camps, the surviver's and liberator's testimonies, and the documentary evidence leave no doubt as to the enormity of crimes against humanity which were committed there.

not to forget
:
those crimes have denominations
as the criminals commiting them had names
and they are spelled in GERMAN

and some of their grandgrandsons are marching still
again
and still they are shouting the same slogans
but all over europe
now
and not only in german
now

Imagem marcante.
Sempre que a vejo provoca-me arrepios.
Penso que nunca é demais relembrar o que se passou.

... I do not completly agree with Fabio Keiner's opinion. We can't blame any country for this! We should all be reprehend for this, we ALL! What happened should be remembered...... because it's our responsibility to prevent such an horror to happen again!

Hakan Aker   {K:14146} 5/8/2003

Chris M.   {K:2058} 5/11/2003
Hi JR,

this is one of the greatest photos I've ever seen about this theme.
Yep, let's never forget and always fight against faschism if needed.

Greetings from Germany
Chris

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87618} 6/4/2003
As an Israeli, who was saved from the fate you depict here only by his father's decision to leave Germany almost at the last moment, I cannot but identify. Thanks. I attach a photo taken a few days ago at a place called "Mini Israel", depicting a place that commemorates what you saw & found the courage to upload.

Dr. Rafael Springmann   {K:87618} 6/4/2003
I would like to add to my previous comment that each year, on a certain day, the hollocaust victims are commemorated by ceremony, by a minute of silence & by lighting of candles. I would like to appreciate your contribution once more by uploading some of there candles, which burn for 24 hours.

Mafalda Machado   {K:835} 10/21/2003
Arrepiante!

aviva s.   {K:346} 3/9/2004
this means alot- to see a visual depiction of horror- as a israeli and especially as a person--it brings some lost memories a voice so to speak
