About Although harmless, they can inflict a painful bite if cornered. They grow to about 12-14inches ( 30-40 cms ) long, fairly thick body and COLD. Imagine the wife when she sees her 9 yo son with one sitting on his shoulders !!

Well taken...

This fellow lives in my garden as well as FIVE others! They make great pets, aeting snails, dog and cat food, although they are allergic to citrus ... Thanks for your comment, Pranab.

Very nice.
Great about and awesome that they just live in your garden. I assume they are a small family?
You ever find them out sunning?

john davis   {K:1685} 5/19/2007
Yeh, Mike, this boy was sunning himself on the pavers enough for me to grab the trusty for a 'shot'. The baby Blue tongues have a more pronounced head shape with their neck tapers in.
Thanks for the feedback, Mike.
Cheers

ps I found a juvenile blue tongue for you...

Mike  Adams   {K:7114} 5/21/2007
Thanks for the shot of the juvenile.
I really see what you are saying with the more pronounced head shape.
Wonderful captures and an interesting piece of photo journalism!

Thanks, Mike.
