Aniko Heart   {K:25957} 5/18/2007
All this "busy-ness" is wearing me out my friend... I would rather have more time "to myself" (which means being here... hehehe...)

I will always pop in when I can.

And your photo really is amazing. As Onie commented, it does look like seahorses in the thumbnail! Fern fronds are stunning and you have captured them so well!

Warm hugs~
Aniko :)

Oh I have always had ferns as one of my favourite plants! They usually grow in so beautiful, green, moist areas, and they unfold in true beauty almost like the small seahorses in the oceans:-)
This is a poetic image, dear Michele. Good DOF and colours.
Take care
Annemette

Michele Carlsen   {K:143006} 5/18/2007

Jan Hoffman   {K:39445} 5/19/2007
Michele -- This is a top-notch close-up and the ferns take on an insect-like quality. Excellent detail and perfect use of selective focus. You nailed this one and I like it a lot.
--Best to you, Jan

Michele~

Meg Metcalfe   {K:5991} 5/22/2007
I've just spotted Onie's comment about sea horses....that's just what I was about to say!
It's a lovely image and the lighting is perfect.
There are a couple of white specks, (maybe dead pixels) I would clone those out, though they don't detract from the beauty of the shot at all.

Well done! :)

Meg.

Robert Chin   {K:20505} 5/23/2007
Beautiful composed image Michele, nature so can be interesting.
7++++
Take care
Robbie

Michele Carlsen   {K:143006} 5/24/2007
Thank You for your great comment dear Meg- It is much appreciated... I do need to clean my lens so my guess is that the spots are dust :(
You've a sharp 'eye' I hadn't noticed it until You pointed it out - and I do appreciate it very much !
Thanks Again,
Michele~

Michele Carlsen   {K:143006} 5/24/2007
WoW !!! You are making my evening an excellent one Robbie - I appreciate your comments soooooo very much :))
Thank You-
Best Wishes,
Michele~

Geoff Ball   {K:3375} 6/1/2007
wow, great shot.
Love the colour, texture and detail.
I especially love the use of the DOF.

In a strange way the ferns remind me of Sea Horses and the the background that of water/kelp.

The image's negative space on the right hand side (in my mind)seems a wee bit unbalanced.

Extremely good image :)

Geoff Ball   {K:3375} 6/1/2007
he he, didn't read the other posts, seems others had made the comparison.
Cheers Geoff,

Michele Carlsen   {K:143006} 6/1/2007
I agree about the un-balenced part of the image now 'when you bring it up Geoff... 'many thank you's '
I don't see things as clearly as I should at an end result I know this- I have been here a few yrs but just started shooting manually :))) Have a good laugh on me :)))
It's so silly when I love it sooooooooo much !!!!!!!!
Thank YOU for the support + great tip !

Best wishes,
Michele~

Michele Carlsen   {K:143006} 6/1/2007
Good for You - I don't like to read others comments until after I send mine first !!!!
michele~

Geoff Ball   {K:3375} 6/1/2007
It's a great image :)
You've got a great eye.

I'm the type of person who always looks to see how I can make my photos better. Sometimes I can't see the flaws, sometimes I can. I believe the best way to improve my photography is to shoot, shoot, and shoot some more AND THEN evaluate and learn.

Even the great Ansel Adams manipulated his images. So don't feel bad if someone spots something in any of your images. It's far worse if everyone just looks at them and says nothing.

Take care
Geoff

Michele Carlsen   {K:143006} 6/2/2007
You are soooo Right Geoff... I agree with your every word my friend :))

Best wishes,
Michele~
