About Another photograph of a long-abandoned Route 66 motel, where native art had once adorned the walls.

No filters used. Adjusted levels, slight unsharp mask. The texturing you see is from the stucco wall

I guess this is like a mural then ? I like it and I bet it means like last time - 'Stay here and buy native American Indian stuff, and spend money' right ?
Just kidding since this is what You told me last time ....
Nice image Dave, thanks for sharing Route 66 with us :))Beautiful colors and interesting painting, and textures.... I love Native American Indian Art BTW

Michele~

Thanks, Michele... I really added to the levels of this. My original thought was to leave it in its muted, faded state. That had some great appeal to me but when I adjusted it heavily for grins, I also liked the saturation and decided to post it.

Oddly enough, I was coming back from an appointment and had a very strange feeling that something bad and big had happened in the US this morning. My thought was that it was some type of major shooting/mass murder. So I turned on the radio just before stopping to take these photos when I heard about the Virginia Tech shootings. I was listening to the first reports while taking these shots.

Here's the original photo, in its muted state:

What a wonderful find, Dave! A shame that it is being lost, but now you have preserved it beautifully!:)

Are You phychic or what Dave ? Not fun to be with all of these many tadjedies happening daily......... that was Very Odd tho- I think you will always remember that whenever you see these images now ........

OMG unbeleiveable the difference in your PP work- Great job you did... this is really fading away- Amazing You got as much of an image as you did to work with - Very interesting to see Your before and after- Plus the 'twightlight zone' story- such a terrible tradgdy.......

Thanks for sharing ALL Dave,
Michele~

Thank you, Shirley!

Awesome Dave...

One of these days these will be totally lost... but you have the "records"...

Your photographic documentation is also remarkably artistic, staightforward and in my opinion, brilliant!

Gotta Love Ya!
Hugs~
Ani :)

Aniko Heart   {K:25957} 5/26/2007
PS: I had not read the comments by others... I did not see the original that you have "boosted" in PP...

Like I said, all will be lost... your "boost" made it "alive"... thank you... regardless of whether this is "politically correct" (the native paintings as a way of "buy from me"... Native Americans as our Native Australians somehow perhaps "exploited"... out of place... Tourist attractions and in need of making some weird adjustments to tradition "living"...But I best shut up... This is a photographic and supposedly non political opinion site...)

Anyways... YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hugs~
Ani :)

Thank you, Ani. Really enjoyed finding this old building and shooting it.

Hugs,
Dave

Nice work, breathing some life into the almost gone. Stands as a work of art on it's own now.
Regards, Gary

Dave Arnold   {K:55613} 5/27/2007
Thank you again, Gary. I don't know why but I really like this photo and will be hanging it.

Dave

You're very good at finding old buildings and shooting them, Dave.

Hugs~
Ani :)

Dave Arnold   {K:55613} 5/29/2007
Well, young lady, old buildings are basically all I have, since I have no beautiful models to shoot like you do. But then whose fault is that? :)

Thank you, Ani.

Dave

I like old buildings Dave... :)

And I also like to photograph them as much as I like to photograph beautiful models.

And what's with "fault"? ~LOL~

Hugs to You Dave~
Ani :)

Dave Arnold   {K:55613} 5/31/2007
Totally my fault, young lady. I am under this misconception that eventually women will start knocking on my door. After waiting 18 years and it still not happening, I maintain hope. LOL

Aniko Heart   {K:25957} 5/31/2007
What's your address??? ~*WINK*~

:) :) :)
