the lighting is really great Giuseppe, and I like the way that the backlight gives that gold color like that at the 'hairs' of the plant, nice shape too of that unique plant.

Laura, I don't know why but I have not received your last pictures. I am glad to read you again.
The subject is the bud of a poppy. This picture is the n° 5 of a series (now also a section of my portfolio) dedicated to the sons or the flowers. Often they seem to have a protective feeling towards their "sons". In this case the "mother" is out of the composition for enphasising the bent of the stem so I titled "orphan".

I feel that one of the elements that makes this image very enjoyable for me is the comparison betweent the leaf and the stem. The lighting and exposure are also very well done.

Thanks Andrzey, your comments always go straith to the point.
There are two opinions about this picture: you and others show to like it better without the leaf; Shirley and others prefer the leaf where it is. I think that both opinions are right. Without leaf surely the drawing is more clean, simple, pleasant, impressive. With the diagonal leaf the composition is more dynamic and deep. They are, in my opinion, two different photos. So I will post later another shot of the same subject where the leaf is not behind the stem and is not diagonal. I feel that the image that I am going to upload is more contemplative and static while the first is more emotive and dynamic. I am looking for reading your feeling Andrzey.

Thanks Shirley for your endless support. About this picture there are two different opinions. You and others prefer the leaf where it is, Andrzey and others like it better without leaf. As I wrote to Andrzey, I thik you are absolutely right both. In fact in my opinion with leaf it is a more dynamic, deep and emotive composition while without it is more contemplative and static, enhancing the drawing. They are two different pictures. For checking this opinion I will post later a different shot of the same imge.

E' incredibile come riesci sempre a sfruttare e gestire al meglio la luce naturale..visto che so che non usi flash..come fai a rendere sempre così nero lo sfondo!?
La luce sulla pianta è bellissima, molto calda..ottimo anche il dettaglio!

Grazie Alessandro, sono contento che ti piaccia. Ottenere lo sfondo nero è semplicissimo: forte contrasto in controsole o laterale, trovi un'ombra dietro il soggetto, esponi sulle alte luci e lo sfondo diventa nero oppure molto scuro. In quest'ultimo caso hai 3-4 strumenti in PS che ti consentono di annerirlo completamente, se lo vuoi.
