| About |
I spent a few days in Kolkata looking for a few images of the Hand Rickshaw Puller’s Life. They were described as “Human Horses” in my assignment brief. I had seen them in documentaries, photographs, films…everywhere. The scenes from films like “Do Bigha Zameen” had made their mark on my mind. I was trying to make an image, which tells the story in just one frame. After taking a long walk in the city, I came across this place near the esplanade market, where these guys used to take a break from their back breaking work. I was about to leave after shooting a few frames, when I happened to see his feet.
