Hi Lydia,
Having farmed for a while myself, and growing up in a farming community(Lydenburg, Mpumalanga), this shot sends nervous tremors through me, as I know exactly how it feels when a fire like that burns dowen all the grazing you have. Excellent shot!
Groete, Stef
PS. I hope everything turned out OK for you, was this on your farm?

Thanks for commenting, Stef - yes, it happened on our farm, fortunately it was put out before it caused too much damage - Groetnis

This is an extraordinary image, Lydia. The ghostly images visible through the smoke and the translucent layers of smoke rising into the sky. It's a beautiful photograph of a terrible event.
Very well done.
