Shirley D. Cross   {K:145298} 5/21/2007
How did you get this shot, Dave...from an airplane? Very nice natural patterns.:)

Michele Carlsen   {K:143006} 5/21/2007
Great shot Dave- I certainly understnd where this river got its name- hard to view any water in there tho and I too wonder where in th heck YOU are to get this view ??????????????????????????????????????

Michele~

Thanks, Michele, that is an easy one. I am on a bridge, 20 feet above the river. The left 1/3rd is the water going by, the center and right thirds are two layers of different color clay... much like your sand shots, a close-up of the river bank patterns.

Dave

Dave Arnold   {K:55654} 5/21/2007
Thank you, Shirley. Nothing so dramatic as an airplane, just standing on the river bridge 2o ft above and zooming in with a close-up of the clay layers.

Thank you, Pranab, I very much appreciate your kind comments.

Best wishes,
Dave

Thank YOu for the explanation Dave-- I was having some trouble - and I had it alllll wrong :(( of course I thought the river was in the middle, and so was just lost.... and then I didn't understand why it was so much darker on the top portion of the image--- I get it now tho !! Sure is RED !!!!!!!!
Excellent work Dave,
michele~

Shirley D. Cross   {K:145298} 5/21/2007
You're welcome, Dave! Thank you for the explanation.:)

Don Loseke   {K:32503} 5/21/2007
I can see why they call it the Red River. Very interesting patterns.

Alicia Popp   {K:84967} 5/22/2007
Wowwwwwww... me gusta y mucho!!
Colores, texturas, formas sinuosas... fabulosa foto!
Oye cuída a Diablo eh?, lo mimas mucho o me lo traigo conmigo!

Dave Arnold   {K:55654} 5/23/2007
Gracias Alicia. He puesto Diablo en un aeroplano a la Argentina. Tomarlo por favor en el aeropuerto. Puedes tratar de él.

Dave Arnold   {K:55654} 5/23/2007
Thanks Don, I thought it a pretty cool modern art straight from nature.

a mysterious abstract with very nice highlights and textures. Without another element for scale it is hard to imagine what it is and its size but the three different tones and lines is good enough. wonderful shot and point of view, very interesting capture..
regards..

Dave Arnold   {K:55654} 5/24/2007
Thank you again, 60!

THANKS!!!

Hugs~
Dave :)

Gary Hill   {K:37344} 5/27/2007
When I first saw this I thought must have been taken from a plane. A sense of scale is so absent. It's a great abstract.
Regards, Gary

Dave Arnold   {K:55654} 5/27/2007
Thanks, Gary. Ahhh, but if you look closely you can get a sense of some scale... the upper left corner of the photos shows some gentle ripples on the water as it gently streams by these two layers of red clay.

Dave

Aniko Heart   {K:25957} 5/28/2007
NO PROBLEMA!
