Kasia Koltunska   {K:5504} 6/11/2007
Great capture... took the liberty of cropping it vertically - it still captures the amazing colors but gives more focus to the moon and venus. Just a suggestion though - see what you think.

Kasia

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:104385} 7/6/2007
Just a few color bands but when one looks exactly suddenly the whole color spectrum of the transition between the earth and space appears. I find the fact stunning that the simple geomentry that I see here contains so much information.

The water (is it water?) at the bottom right diminishes the perfection of simplicity of geometry. So I thought that cropping off a bit of the bottom could restore that simplicity. But then the black silhouettes of the hills get too weak as a base on which the rest of the image stands. So I cloned the water out - something that I don't like at all, but in this case it could be perhaps a "retro-guide" of what should have been done at shooting time? Anyway, I attach the altered image. What do you think?

Nonetheless a very interesting work in color bands that prove to be a single transition between "us" on earth and space.

Cheers,

Nick

Cloned the water (?) away

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:104385} 7/6/2007
Aarrgggh! I see now that I didn't do the job right. Oh well, here it is another time. Sorry for the waste of bandwidth, Gary!

Cheers,

Nick

Cloned the water (?) away. (Hopefully ;-))

Gary Dyck   {K:12213} 1/17/2008
Hi Sokol... doin' good for being stuck in a blizzard (for 2 days now...)! I am back up where this shot was taken actually. Not so keen on the cold and wind, but it's a pretty interesting place for photography at times. Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary
