I see many times crappy photos of flowers, but such images, like this one, do show me that nature can be captured with care and the necessary attention that produces at the end not merely something about which everybody is shouting "oohhh, beautiful flower", no! Much more than this, here I can say: "A beautiful *image*", enhancing the difference between what exists, and what is captured - the latter being the *only* reason for photography, which seems to be not so easily understood by many people.
Here everything fits the overall impression. The separation of the main subject from the rest through well balanced selective focus, the hues in a bit darker presentation that enhances silence and serenity, and the nice details on the flowerm itself - that could have been a bit sharper in focus.
A great shot and thanks a lot for posting it, Wayne!

Errrm, Wayne, if may say that, just respond with more images like this one!!???
Really, a capture of a flower as the main protagonist is way more difficult to do than most people think. And I am only enthousiastic when I see such works, which do success mastering all parts of exposure.
More of them, more of them - now you have another demanding fan! ;-)
Best wishes,
Nick

Excellent photo and somehow I like it in greyscale even it is a macro on nature... the flower - main plant - looks great with very good details. Excellent. Best regards!
