About A picture of my daughter-in-law, Shannon. I am experimenting and familiarizing myself with PS CS3. Converted to monochrome and stamp filter applied for contrast and tone drop-out. Taken in low light conditions at ISO 1600.

I like what you've done with this, Jan.
Yeah, many times when I shoot ISO 16 or 3200, I just push it farther rather than try to clean the noise.

I really like the way this turned out.

Thanks so much, Paul. Lets call this a photo rescue -- this low light shot was pushed too far and there was much noise and the color/contrast was flat as a pancake. I played with it a a bit and found the stamp filter gave me what I thought was interesting results.
--Best to you, Jan

Great effect Jan...I like the result...most interesting :) :)
Is there much difference between CS2 and CS3..ummm, do you want me to ask that again after you have had more time with it, lol!!! Sorry, I just had to ask.
Cheers

Thanks so much for your comments, Liz. I, by no means am an expert, but from my readings and experiments to date I see a lot of changes in CS3 compared to CS2. Smart filters have been added and like Smart Objects you have can have control of filter actions in layers independent of the other changes. The Bridge interface and features are improved, Camera Raw has new functionality,. and many new features in CS3 as well. For example a major improvement to Contrast/Brightness, a new and enhanced way to do intelligent object selection as well as a way to gain much more control over the selections with a Refine Edge command. Printing much better and easier, Black & White conversion much improved and the user interface has been improved. The list is very long and these are just a few of the new or improved things.
--Best to you, Jan
