Very unlike your recent stuff. A lot of color and movement in this. (Movement as in eye movement) I really like the way you do not title the recent stuff. Let people look and think and make of it what they will. For me, I look at this and think, "Torn on the edges, tattered. Something missing. Yet, all the charge cards are there. Whatever was stripped off... leave the money connection." May not be what you were thinking... but since you give me/us free reign.... that's what I see.

Yes, Jim... allow the person looking to make up their own mind. I am through with titles... no information, just imagery. I never take a photograph without having an idea or strong feeling as to why I should do so, but that's for me. As soon as you've uploaded a photo, it becomes something different anyway... it's in a public arena in which it is subject to the interpretations of thousands of individuals who all see things differently...

Amen, brother. But I am wired a bit different than you. I do not like to have my pics misinterpreted. I think of William Carlos Williams (I think I have it right) and his poem about plums, or the one about the red wheelbarrow. Mr. Williams wrote poetry because he had too. Then, as cryptic as it was, he became a bit... hmmm... agitated, becasue people did not grasp his meaning. That is where you and I stand a bit apart. You have found that place that lets you post and walk away. I have to write up a storm to explain and inform so MY meaning gets across. Do a google on "The Red Wheelbarrow." A great bit of free verse... and a perfect example of how you and I see things differently. Still, I love yer work.

Hmm... I won't say I don't get exasperated sometimes when people miss what I'm trying to get across altogether, but if they feel something strongly about a photograph of mine that is completely different from what I had in mind, I really enjoy that. The trouble is with my work is that a lot of it is to do with not conveying anything, with being removed from emotion, so I think some people find it difficult to relate to my work. But that's OK... I take photographs because it keeps me sane, and if someone else likes them then that's a bonus.

So much of what you show the world is a look/moment into the mind of Pat... A narrow perspective... but a grand and broad view. As always... interesting.

Patrick Crowther   {K:13567} 5/31/2007
Yup. Very narrow... that's both a blessing and a curse.
