Beautiful! So full of life because of the sky reflecting in the water - it appears to be the moon, but so much light so I´m not certain about that. Anyway the tones of the pebbles, rock and especially the one leaf are warm and deep. A miniaturelandscape.

I love this Patrick. It evokes a lot of emotion, in my opinion. (most of your pictures do)

Excellent colour and tone, love the detail.
The bottom left side is a dead spot of sorts, it's also where my eyes finish when reading your image.
Aside from that, great composition and feel.

Patrick Crowther   {K:13570} 5/31/2007
Thanks for the comment, Geoff... yes, I agree with you about the bottom left... but I can't really see what I could have done about it... I couldn't crop it any differently without spoiling the rest of the image.

Geoff Ball   {K:3375} 5/31/2007
I couldn't see how cropping or moving around would help either. Maybe rotation of the image might mitigate it a fraction?

Some less scrupleless photographers might have dropped a leaf or rock to add to the shot.

I guess things to ponder :)

I do like the shot, especial the top third of the broken black rock on the brown rock with the leaf.

Oh no... I never add things to photos. Never. I often remove blemishes or little things that distract the eye (I removed some white stones from this, for instance) but basically I want to present the 'reality' of what I find. I hate photographs in which it's obvious that photoshop has created half the image, which is sadly all too common on Usefilm.

Geoff Ball   {K:3375} 5/31/2007
I do enjoy stubbling across some thing and capturing it, as an "Object trouvee" instead of a posed still life image.

Here was an image that is similar to yours, (I hope you don't mind).

Even has a similar dead spot. Anyway something to compare/contrast.

Cheers, Geoff

I did some reflective shots today. It'll take me a while to get it posted, but it's on my list. I like the tripartite division in this one. I feel tempted to flip it over (bottom to top) though.

I love the phrase 'worm colours'! This shall be my motto from now on.
