About A male Water Dragon with his chest puffed up.He is shedding his skin and is short of a front claw. They are very common in nthe coastal areas in Qld and grow to about 2 - 2.5 feet long. While not aggressive they can be a pain in the butt if you are in the water and they decide they want a better vantage point to see from and your it.

He looks cranky Tony. Are they still running around at work or have they gone into hibernation for the winter?:)

Tony Growden   {K:1711} 6/1/2007
They always do Ann. No they are still around as it has not gotten cold enough for them to Hibernate. There are about a dozen of them in the one pond at work and they all like climbing your leg to get higher up!

A little too close for comfort for me.:)

wow.

Very nice capture.
I like that you included the fact that it is shedding in this capture.
the shed does very much affect the temperament of reptiles.
My Bearded Dragon has been shedding for about 2 months now and the whole time he has been very moody.
I think when they try to get the higher vantage point, they are just trying to get closer to the sun.
You just happen to be the highest point!

WOOOH. Nothing for that having them climb up. Never know what they might find. Well done Tony and great to get all that info from everyone.
