Nice abstract horse :)
Ok, no jokes: I am happy that you shot this, I love horses. And about the leg: don't cut it down! :) It would be even better with more of its leg visible, if it is possible. If not, leave it alone, it is good.

Thank you very much for the comment and the idea, Andras! Talking about abstract horses - well, let me see if I can turn them to biomechanoids, as I am in the alien trip for the time being. And their heads are quite matching alien! ;-)
Unfortunately this is also the uncropped image, so I can't include more of its leg, but nonetheless a fruitable proposal, which let me see a bit more clear.

I like the lighting here, emphasizing the horses mane, Nick. I think you're right about cropping a little off the left side though.

So we have two diametrically different opinions here, yours and Andras' who would rather include more of the horse's leg in the image. Interesting and also very fruitful to see how different perceptions of one and the same thing may turn.
I attach the cropped image here - I think it concentrates more on the "face expression" of the horse, while Andras' idea would rather exmphasize on the whole animal (?). Unfortunately the original photo doesn't include anything else, so I can't also post something that corresponds more to his idea.

I also feel if a little bit cropped from the right it would suit the composition better. I like the diagonal form from his neck. Beautiful shot!

So we have two main opinions here, of which one suggests the inclusion of more of the horse, and the other cropping off image anything but the main subject. I find it very interesting, since it shows two diametrically different impressions.

A very pleasing composition of the a "cuddy" in a field, with great sidelighting. I've been looking to get a shot like this for a while myself, but can't get the right field-horse-light, at the same time. Anyway it will come eventually. keep the leg in Nick, it doesn't detract from thr frame at all, indeed add some more as per Andras comments. P.S. Cuddy is old scottish for a horse.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Robert! Well, it seems that they don't stand at the right place at the right time, and thus the poor photographer can't have it all. I was lucky enough that day, but in general it is indeed hard. This is also why I have almost no photos of animals at all.
Oh, and thanks for the info about what cuddy means. OK, tomorrow I'll post something sprecial that has to do with scottish! :-)
