Hi Kristina,

Many have taken photos of the Hibuscus but this is very beautiful and I will include it in my favorites. One little nitpick (if I may) would be the small white spot on the top edge.

Best regards,

Kristina - this is wonderful. The colors are great, the focus is spot on, and the shadows really had a lot of interest.

Regarding my Redbells picture, I don't know why the blooms on the left are out of focus. I did have a pretty wide aperture, so DOF would have been shallow. Also, the bush was in the lee of a bigger bush, and the flowers on the right were more protected than those on the left. Finally, even though mounted on a tripod, the collar of the Nikkor 80-400 VR lens is flimsy, and can be a bit unstead when combined with a teleconvertor. One of these days, I'm going to purchase an "L" bracket or something else that I hope will be more stable. However, it seems that camera shake would blur all of the flowers, not just the one on the left. I guess the short answer is I don't know why the flower on the left is blurred.

One of the best hibiscus shots I've seen. The shadow, composition, color, all come together in this image. Move over Georgia O.
