Hi Jim, This is a super shot of a buttercup but it seems somehow that something is missing, perhaps it is the black background that makes the flower stand out should perhaps have some blurred green in there to avoid making the buttercup too stark in its presentation.
Also the shadow round the picture frame could do with moving so that the light is coming from the same direction as is on the flower, perhaps better still take the frame shadow away.
Anyway, well done!

Very nice composition, excellent colours, details and clarity !! What about darken it a very little bit to get rid of the hot spot on the petals? Just a thought, but very nice anyway!! Thank you very much for your kind words on my "Tendril"! Regards *
