Showing the beauty of the flower without distraction...stunning composition Bob...muted but still intense color! What I've been attempting, you show how it's done! Nice to meet you! Your florals and still life are superb! Thank you so much for the recent nice critique. Regards--Bill Voizin

Thank you for your kindness, Shirley. I only wish tulips had a longer bloom season. I never tire of them.

A well composed image which commands the eye to explore the array of soft shapes and dominating color. I like the contrasting rigidity of the tulip stem against the background of softly outlined orbs. Well balanced dark and light areas. A beautiful piece of work. Don't know what I can suggest to make it better, other than creating just a hint of red color in the very dark area at the bottom right. Found art isn't always very cooperative in this respect, is it, Bob? Anson

Bob Brins   {K:3798} 7/9/2007
Thanks, Anson. Yes, we work with what we get. I'ld like the three out of focus flower to have merged more, and yes, a little red blur at the lower right would work. I'm thinking of using a defusion filter in the future.

Beautifully exposure the Tulips femininity, I do like it very much, also like Tulips hope to get more because the weather hasn’t been easy yet!
Cheers,
Harry

Seems that everyone likes tulips. Your comment regarding femininity is interesting. Weather is important. I went to the identical place this year; the light was bright but too high in contrast; the magic wasn't there.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment. Good luck!

Bob
