About From Gene’s Journal #2
--24 June, 2007

Here I am in front of the oldest train station in the United States.
The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum: Ellicott City Station is the oldest surviving railroad station in America, and was the original terminus of the first 13 miles of commercial railroad in the country.

I'm getting a little worried about Gene's well-being. He seems to be floating in mid-air, and his ear-to-ear grin appears to be getting wider. I hope you've remembered to give him his vitamins and cod-liver oil...

AJ -- Never fear; we give him Rolling Rock beer and Old Bay crab spice to keep him on track.

Old Bay Crab spice?? I had to pull Marny out of a packing crate when she read that . . . she was mailing herself over there!

Hmmmm . . . he does seem to have a bigger smile . . . Rolling Rock Beer . . . may be a tad bit of my Irish blood in 'em after all!! :)

gene needs a twist tie on his back. might i suggest surgery?

Jan Hoffman   {K:39373} 6/25/2007
Jessie -- I see your point and that is a good suggestion. However I am kind of hesitant to perform surgery on Gene unless it is an emergency (like a hat falling off).

Cool piece of history Gene. Thanks for the info! Hope you got to check out some old trains too.

Jan Hoffman   {K:39373} 7/22/2007
Rina -- Honest truth is that the museum was closed and little Gene only saw the trains through the fence. Bummer!!!!!
