If Gene has acquired a taste for crabs, then all the more reason for him to come and visit. I spent the afternoon photographing the little critters. Probably not the edible sort - this lot live in holes in the mud along the freshwater inlets. There'll be one posted on UF sometime over the next few days - not for the faint hearted...

AJ -- Sounds like sand crabs. All crabs are ugly but some taste really good!!!!!! Maryland Blue crabs are my favorite but quite pricey. Looking forward to your crabby photos.

Sorry Jan, I'm with Dave, while it's lovely to see Gene enjoying himself and socialising, the real star of this shot is that shirt!!!

OK but it isn't the fabric that makes you itch!
It's the Old Bay spice on your hands that gets into your skin and clothes along with fragments of broken crab shells. This is not a neat food to eat.

Thanks Jessie. Gene was not too crazy about eating the crabs but mostly because we had to feed it to him. He does not have fingers, as you well know. I think if we had given him a whole, live salmon or some other actual fish he would have been happier.
Good eye to see the seafood background on the wall. This place is a traditional Maryland Crab House.
