Hi Hugo, nice to see you again :)A rather uncomfortable weather you have taken so beautifully...It happens not often, but my first thought was try it in b&w.Slowly I detect my love for black and white..so please do not mind :)

I like this Hugo, especially the fact that all of their faces are hidden in the shot at the same time. I think that with this shot, given the rarity of getting a picture without a single vestige of modernity in it, I might have opted for this shot to have been posted in B&W.
Nice grab.

Hey Hugo -

I came in today under the same weather in Kansas, USA. Been raining the last few days and waiting for the weather to break. I'm hoping to have new posts worthy of your critique in two weeks. Been away for a while standing up the web site, DVDs, etc...

Hoping your biz is going well.

Nice capture Hugo!

Nice to see you posting again Hugo, this scene is typically Paris for me- maybe I've just been unlucky!Might have worked better in B/w but I would have gone for a stronger colour contrast making the scene somewhat darker using curves and then boosting the colours a little.
Hope to see more of your images soon, best wishes, Tony:)

Hugo!

The muted colors in this image make the rain quite tangible. I get a voyeuristic feeling - with umbrellas covering their faces, the five solitary figures have a certain anonymity. I feel like I am part of the scene, observing them from an unnoticed spot.

For whatever reason, the 5 bodies appear to float over the wet pavement, with just a hint of ghostly reflections beneath them. I'm not sure if I like that characteristic, but at any rate it adds a surreal aspect to this well-conceived image.

I had a major computer meltdown, am just getting back to square one now. Lost addy's, some images (hopefully will recover), etc. Good to see you are around!

Dear Hugo!

A brilliant street capture!

I would like to say more than something as obvious as that... but little else comes to mind!

Yes, the technicalities are spot on, but that too is obvious.

I have never been to Paris. This is apparently one of her "moods"... Could have been shot anywhere, aside from the fact that the Louvre is the "backdrop" to this scene.

I would be honoured to visit you again, as I see your portfolio is remarkable, even from the thumbnails. I shall take a better look at your work as time permits.

I wish to thank Phil Minnis for telling me about you and your photographs.

Best Regards,
Aniko :)
