So funny -- all photos of you are with a camera in your face. I agree about the ducking; a camera is the best defense. Consider though that Marlyce has adopted the same strategy. I assume she was better at the hula-hooping than you were? :)
Love the framing of the hoop and James' expression.

Ah-ha! Now I know why you've been missing...you ARE planning a series of you vs. the Hoop and you have been devoting all your time to practicing, yes? Now that is something I would pay at least a half a buck to see!
Ok, seriously...this is a fun shot Doyle. Good comp/crop, a hint of movement as James gets ready(?) to let it fly, wonderful color (I've noticed the difference between the old and new cameras), and excellent clarity at the cute pof. Isn't it fun to watch THEM having fun?! I'll have to post a picture of Collin playing "water bottle golf" by the pool...talk about fun, think the adults laughed harder than he did. :)

LoL! Ok Jan . . . I think it's safe to say that if it eats, breathes or poops it's likely better at using a hula hoop than I am. Clearly I have much more important things to do with my time than learn such things . . . like contemplating the meaning of existence. Heavy stuff. Important, earth shaking matters. :)
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Ummm . . . nope . . . the hula hoop, as it happens, turns out to be something less than a major strength for me. I'll be by looking for that Collin shot in a tad . . . What a coincidence . . . the adults laughed harder when I was doing the hula hoop too . . . the kids were just giving me pointers. :)

Hula hoops... A bit like Pogo Sticks, trampolines etc... we can't resist having a go regardless of age... May be it's the memories they bring back that turns us into *Here, give it to me... I used to be really good at this...* and then we proceed to trip up, land on our derrieres, lose our teeth, knickers and dignity and hospital if we're really unlucky... ~~GRIN~~ BUT!!! Gee it's still fun to have a go...:)))
C'mon Doyle, let's see you swinging those hips... Don't be shy, we promise we won't laugh...;)))
