About As a teenager (in another century) taking the 3 hour trip over the mountains to the 'big smoke' was not complete until these three icons had been enjoyed-the Sydney Opera House (from where this is taken), the Sydney Harbor Bridge followed by the night at Luna Park (in the distance)

Beautiful capture, dear cathy. I love the warm evening light (Please correct me if I am wrong).
Best wishes,

Dear Minoo, you are correct, this was taken late on a winter's day. Thankyou for your kind comment. CC

BTW congrats on your featured critique

Dave Arnold   {K:55654} 7/11/2007
Great composition and I was about to say something about all those lines and it probably belongs in the lines project...but I see you've already been there and done that.

Love this shot!

Best wishes,
Dave

wonderful composition and lighting. I like how you've put all the elements in their own place to create this composition of structures... lines are seen from all directions..
great shot!
regards..

An interesting perspective, have never seen the combination taken before! You have a good eye!

Pablo Dylan   {K:56133} 7/14/2007
Inusual but excellent point of view.
Well done Cathy

Very, very nice.

I love the warmth in winter's afternoon sunlight.
It contrasts beautifully with the cool, crisp lines and the slate quality of the water.

You do have an excellent eye, and it just seems to get better!

love
A

The light on Luna park is excellent, also good to see some foreground rather than just the bridge from a distance.

A very imaginative take. Quite a tour de force to bring these three massive symbols together and to achieve a sense of balance at the same time.

Cathy Carroll   {K:27448} 8/1/2007
Thankyou Gervais, I really enjoyed your comment, so I checked out your portfolio-very impressive. I like what you do with colour.
Your latest image will not open at present, but the story came up. You spoke about the vacuous expressions on the faces of our marsupials, which made me smile. From personal experience kangaroos are only interested in sleeping and growling. Good luck with your attempts to capture any more than bland boredom. Hopefully your image will download soon and I can check out those vacuous eyes. CC

Dear Cathy

I am glad you found my portfolio of some interest. I grap photo opportunities as I move around the world, but there are more occasions missed than great photos captured. I do not quite know why the image would not open and will re-post it as soon as I can.

Wow. I LIKE your eye, Cathy.
You perfectly aligned all these different structures into one cohesive abstract.

Peter Tzagarakis   {K:1348} 2/4/2008
Very good composition and light.

Danny Brannigan   {K:16474} 5/22/2008
The Harbour bridge is very much like our own Tyne Bridge in Newcastle on Tyne and in fact the steelwork for your bridge came from the North East after you copied our design.

Eb Mueller   {K:23296} 6/7/2008
Lovely framing within frames, Cathy! The foreground frames the bridge which in turn frames the ferris wheel!
Eb
