Really strong photo, Dave... it looks like an amazing place to take photos. I didn't know there was a Memphis in Texas...

John Hatz   {K:144327} 7/21/2007
Amazing the tones here, the way the sunlight makes that trigon shape on the wall, the old ruinnes, the beautiful textures, amazing photo, best on that great still life subject...well in life...perchaps not, as all the companies they works with cottons and generaly fabrics! Stunning your frame too!
Best regards!

Dirk Noort   {K:9983} 7/21/2007
Excellent composition, beautiful work with lights!
Dirk.

Dave Arnold   {K:55613} 7/21/2007
Thanks, Patrick. Yup, Memphis is in the panhandle, a small town with lots of old buildings on the town square.

Best to you,
Dave

Dave Arnold   {K:55613} 7/21/2007
Thank you, John. Actually, the lighting is not sunlight since this was taken at 1 AM in the middle of the night. It is from a street light out front of the old building.

Best to you,
Dave

Dave Arnold   {K:55613} 7/21/2007

I donīt know the place, Dave, but I love the texture and the shadow/light in this one. It has an oldfashioned mood to it like a Charly Chaplinstage or something similar.
Take care, ARNOLD;-)))

Dave Arnold   {K:55613} 7/21/2007
Thank you Annemette.... this is actually a building that dates back to the early 1900s... and my goal was to try and capture that in monochrome.

Take care ERIKSEN :-)))

Great contrast - excellent shot my friend . 7/7

You've done such a good job with the exposure, Dave. Plenty of tonal range and you haven't lost the texture in the staircase. Of course most people would have captured this during the day but you seem to be quite a night owl lately, with great results.
Regards, Gary
