About This photograph (1307) was shot in our new SAM sculpture park on 11 June 2007.

What is fascinating here is the optical illusion created by my perspective. I let you ponder that a bit before I tell the tale.

Thanks for taking an interest in my photographs.

Excelentes texturas y nuevamente la presencia del óxido.
Bravo!

Alicia Popp   {K:82471} 7/22/2007
me encanta!!!
Precioso detalle, con texturas, colores óxidos y esa diagonal tan bien capturada!
Felicitaciones!!!

Patrick Crowther   {K:13570} 7/22/2007
The famous Schwarzenegger Canyon on Mars, discovered in the year 2025...

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
Gust@vo - Gracias. El óxido es bueno.

Shirley D. Cross   {K:140542} 7/22/2007
Fantastic! Could have been taken on Mars.:)Hey, I wrote that before I saw Patrick's comment!

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
Alicia - Gracias pour los comentarios. El diagonal es importante aqui, pero es un elemento que reste descansado.

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
Shirley - Thanks. Mars indeed.

mahassa bahri   {K:10934} 7/22/2007
very nice textured shot,
great simple composition,
the rusty color is fabulous,
reminds me of Lucio Fontana's artworks,
all the best, mahassa

John Hatz   {K:139710} 7/22/2007
It's a great abstract composition, the rust texture looks great with very good details James!

Roger Skinner   {K:62372} 7/22/2007
the slash...my son..is universal always sought ever chaste ever chased

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
Patrick - Thanks. Well, there is no valley. That's the illusion.

Check it out.

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
Mahassa - Thank you. I see what you mean: his slashes.

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
John - Thanks. I'm glad you like it.

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
Roger - Thanks. Have a look at my reply to Patrick. You'll see a very different gash.

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55371} 7/22/2007
The grand Canyon of rust! Excellent image with good tones and fascinating cracks.
Take care

James Cook   {K:36725} 7/22/2007
Annemette - Thanks. Except there is no canyon. See my reply to Patrick.

Anna Bergel   {K:614} 8/3/2007
I love how such a simple subject can keep you looking... making up more possibilities the more you look. nice eye

James Cook   {K:36725} 8/4/2007
Anna - Thanks. With this one it's all about the optical illusion created by the shadow. It really is fascinating how turning this picture over can utterly transform it.

Alan Shaffer   {K:5804} 8/8/2007
Beautiful texture and color James. Well done!

-Al

James Cook   {K:36725} 8/9/2007
Alan - Thanks. The real power in this one is the illusion created though.
