Almost you set the place on fire - and what a place it is! I consider the fact more fantastic than the "flames" that there is also space and depth on this one, created by the presence of the perpectivisticly seen room from the inside. And then the great coloring staurated and intense that makes the difference netween the "flames" and the space in which they evolve very visible.
But how did you achieve to let the room look quite still while the flames show the behavior of motion? Why isn't the room itself also "moved"?
Nick

Very nice work, dear Mahassa. A good representation of the title. Not only are they very warm colors that imply the concept, but also there is the sensation of uneasiness that is evoked by the dynamic forms. Best wishes, Minoo

Wow, Mahassa, I don't know what I am actually seeing but I know what my mind says this is. Such an apt title, too because it reminds me of exactly that, a room where the walls just burn. Very neat.
Best wishes, Dave

many many thanks for the nice words Nick, and perhaps you mean the ceiling and the floor by the word room, because there is nothing else here except the walls, the ceiling and the floor. I assume you said yes now!!! well, I think the ceiling and the floor have moved too, I mean they are blurred but as the are dark here it isn't so much noticable, don't you think so? I would be glad to know your opinion.. best to you, mahassa

Yes, your assumption was correct, Mahassa! ;-) So it was in a room and the ceiling and the floor were of course in much lower light conditions than the lights on the windows.
Still very strange to me, since they are enough illuminated for exhiniting the same behavior at least in some less degree as the lights. Perhaps you stayed at some certain position for some times until the shutter was closed? This could explain that, since it could be that the celing and the floor demanded more time in order to be registered by the CCD.
That is, when some strong light is present, it of course gets immediately registered and so all its motion is "recorded". But objects in lowlights need their time until they send enough light to the CCD (or film) in order to be recored. So, if after camera motion we stay at some position (and perhaps continue afterwards) while the shutter is open, then it could be that the objects in lowlight will only appear at the position where we stopped motion.
Only an assumption, which I surely will try to conform experimentally! :-)
Best wishes,
Nick

So we have yet another potential method for yet another potential kind of photography, and a very promising one. Let's see.
This night we have here yet another night full of concerts for the blue balls festival in Lucerne. Some nice old southern rockers are also there, singing such things like "Train train". So I guess it would be a good opportunity to check if the method works. That is, if and only if I can hold still under those roaring rhythms. ;-) Old good valves sound, you see. No dolbies, no digital equipment, and yes, much hum, and much noise, but the sudden attacks of those chords just nail me to the wall!
Stay tuned Mahassa, and post us what you find out.
Ciao,
Nick

This is eerie. It looks like flames flowing up the walls but somehow leaving the floor and ceiling untouched. Your About surprised me as I thought there was a lot more work to accomplish this. You are very creative. I love how it spurs imagination. MAry
