This is fine if I were able to sleep after just three.
But I'm afraid it takes more than this for me.
Otherwise I'd take your pic to bed with me.
Though I'd rather a shower shot it would be.

Lets see what your masking ability can do.
By putting them in the shower, even just two.
If that is something for me you'd pursue.
I'd surely name one of them Sue.

Larry Fosse   {K:65869} 7/25/2007
I had my masking fine tuned once!...dunno what you did however the detail in the wooll is supern....excellent color & comp Bek,,,keep up the training

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/25/2007
A fine piece of poetry from you Dave,
And if it is showering sheep that you crave,
I will try my hand at it, though...
I'm afraid my progress may be slow.

That is quite new to me, you see,
The merging of two can be so tricky,
Some sheep may get wet, and some may not,
But whatever happens, I will give it a shot!

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/25/2007
Thankya Larry, this was a fairly long zoom in on the sheep, so the detail was surprisingly good.
I used the layers and masking to adjust the saturation and tones of the different elements, as the sheep were nearly the same colour as the dirt!
It was really just a practice shot, I need lots of practice, am stuck in a rut and need to figure out how do to more.
cheers, Beks

Hi Bek---

Of course I am not too sure about all the experiments You are doing ...but it looks like 2 of those sheep are posing perfectly for You un-less they are possibly cloned...and this is what the layers & masking part is about ?

Are YOu laughing again :)) Well I hope so if it is a dumb question :))))

Regardless Woohooo!!!! What a beautiful image...Seriously I love this ...nice natural colors and tones, soft textures...and rich land...It's beautiful -

Cheers,
Michele~

Shirley D. Cross   {K:143468} 7/26/2007
Cute sheep, and the two do look they're posing for you. :)))

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/26/2007
Hi ya Michele, nope not laughing...no such thing as a dumb question (ok SOMETIMES there is!!).
Sheep not cloned, the rotten things wouldn't all look at me at the same time!!
I was more so fiddling about with the saturation and tones, that sort of thing. Didn't really have a goal in mind for the finished product, just playing.
Now I face the arduous task of getting them in the shower for Dave!! Ridiculous, but I love a challenge...
Thanks a bunch for your great comment,
cheers, Beks

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/26/2007
Thankyou Shirley, but Cap'n Midnight wants to see them in the SHOWER!!! Sick, sick boy...but of course I am going to do it! Stay tuned for that one!! ;^)
cheers, B

Shirley D. Cross   {K:143468} 7/26/2007

This do Dave?

sheep in the shower

Dave Arnold   {K:55649} 7/26/2007
Oh, you are a monster. I mean that. I don't mean monster as in cute... how in the world could you do that to poor Bambi?

Wait, wrong animal. never mind.

Dave
From New Mexico. Where men are men and the sheep are nervous.

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/26/2007
Keep a look out Dave, it's coming REEEAL soon!!

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/26/2007
I am a baaaaaa-d girl!!! ;^P

Rina     {K:26896} 7/26/2007
You've done an awesome job with masking. Perfect, no tell-tale signs that some unfortunately end up with around edges. The colours all look natural. Not to mention it's a great composition. Great timing on your part!

Liz Wallis   {K:25679} 7/26/2007
The thing I like the most here is the almost diagonal line that the sheep create in the image. The detail is great, and so is the composition..I can't believe they didn't have the manners to all look at you at the same time though!!! rude blighters!!!

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/26/2007
Thanks so much Rina, the colours were all messed up, the sheep were the same colour as the dirt, the grass was a ridiculous shade of green (thanks to the wonderful rain we have had) and the sky a really amazing intense blu....looked to good to be true.
I enjoyed the practice, time consuming as it was!
Cheers, B

rebecca claassen   {K:16443} 7/26/2007
They are kind of 'progressing down the hill aren't hey. These were the last three that were left, after I was driving, saw a large flock of them standing on the bank of the dam, bright blue sky behind...thought 'that might be a good shot'...pulled over, crept across the road..and off they went!!
These three, though not posing properly for me, at least hung around so I could get some shots. A bit of a long zoom though, lest I scare them away too!!
Thanks Liz, keep your chin up my dear, B

good job!...i have yet to try layers and masking in paintshop pro 8....i agree with Rina's observations...i like how you framed the shot and the contrast of colors

You did a fabulous job with the image Hon!!!

Really. Doesn't look like any post process work has been done at all!

Now... as for Dave... hmmm... Sick? LOL!!! If so, I'll catch what he has any time! :) What a sense of humour!
Love it and love your amazing skill (and humour too..)

Wish I were around more often in UF. I never seem to have enough "time" to catch up on what's going on! Thanks for pointing me in this direction.

Again, really good work.

HOGS (or sheep...):) :) :)

Thanks so much Hon....but you REEEEEALLY need to see the image that is posted after this one....

Aniko Heart   {K:25957} 8/2/2007
I can't wait! :) :) :)

But I'll have to.

Cancelled my nightshift at work as I am SOOOO tired.

Off to bed for me... (to count sheep???) :) :) :)
Nah... won't need to... LOL! I'm already half asleep.

I'll be back when I need no matchsticks to prop up my eyelids. :)

Ani x
