About Taken at El Pena, a beautiful romantic castle in Sintra inspired by many different periods. A castle on a mountain in a park or rather forest that was taken from a fairy tale. I still wonder why I saw no unicorns there!;-) A German man who later on became king in Portugal made these amazing surroundings full of old stonebenches, hidden gateways in the woods, romantic lakes, flora from all over the world, stonebridges etc. No words can describe this place especially the park/forest- go there!

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 8/12/2007
Thank you dear John- yes I also felt that these fabrics made the scenery more poetic and special.
Take care:-)

Patrick Crowther   {K:13570} 8/12/2007
Wow! You're back with an absolute classic! This is amazing... so atmospheric. There is something very surreal about this image... it rather reminds me of an Escher print brought to life. The two sheets blowing in the wind are great... two brothers, one angelic and friendly, kind to snails, the other a mean, twisted knot... snails beware when that one's around... 7+++++ and a favourite.

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 8/12/2007
THank you mr. Italy:-)

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 8/12/2007
Yes, you said what I feel about this- that it is timeless. THank you dear friend and your interpretation is spot on.

yeah weird alright love the bolts of cloth as they contrast each other and also with the hard stone of the castle.. well seen opportunity

Dirk Noort   {K:10208} 8/13/2007

This is fantastic. Dream and reality mixed. Beautiful view and architecture, cropped and composed into a wonderful photograph. The floating fabrics make the scene more vivid and bring a nice motion into the frame.
The black and white makes this picture stand out even more.
Wonderful, as always.
Take care,
Minoo

Hi dear Annemette. I am delighted that you had a nice vacation. It is really nice to hear from you and see your wonderful pictures again. I am also very sorry that you are not yet in good health. I truly hope that you will soon have your health back. You are in my thoughts and my prayers.
It is indeed a privilege to be able to travel. I love traveling, but my work situation does not allow me for that, at least not for the moment. I have had a very busy summer work wise; many deadlines to be met still.
But looking at your wonderful travel photos, makes me feel as though I was there too. So, I thank you for posting them. I enjoy them a lot.
look after yourself,
Minoo

A beautiful image in b+w dear Annmette--- I think I really lie all of these catles as we don't really have any in America...only a couple of extravagant ones with not much history:((

Best wishes,
Michele~

Maja Godec   {K:11602} 8/16/2007
nice one!!!

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 8/17/2007
Thank you, Michele. I know what you mean. A castle is not spectacular because of its architecture only, but because of all the history that is attached to it. The way life and death has spread out in the area from the walls of such a place where a few royal people had much power.

Paolo Corradini   {K:52788} 8/18/2007

Take care

What a wonderful, romantic shot, of this beautiful place! Your description does make me want to go there. Maybe, some day... Sorry I am so behind in my comments, dear Annemette. I'll try to make up for it somewhat now.:)

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55404} 8/23/2007
Yes, I could see you taking so many photos there and making the most wonderful photoart!
No no no don´t feel behind in comments - never think that I expect any comments. I´m serious.
Sleep tight!:-)
