It's a nice shot Doyle, the exposure is good and so the low reflections on the glass...looks like you use nicely the flash here, and I know that these shining objects are NOT so easy to take shots of them, well done from techniqual view...

An exercise in lighting? I have to agree with John...not an easy shot and you did well Doyle!

Take care...Robin

Todd Weeks   {K:7549} 8/21/2007
Doyle,

I agree. A difficult shot perfectly executed. I just have to ask, were you drinking when you did the crop, or did you purposely put it off center? ;^)

Todd

Thanks Robin . . . I also used a flat black light absorbing backdrop . . . it was an exercise, indeed, and showed me I need more work. Difficult without experience . . . but you know me . . . I can work out the experience issues! :)

LoL! Thanks for the sobriety tip, Todd! Off-center is not so cool here?? Ok. Clearly, I had not had enought to drink . . . no, wait! I intended it to be off-center . . . wait! No, that's not gonna cut it . . . I think I might have been . . . uhhhh . . . sober? NO! Wait! I was testing you all to see who would notice and mention it? Yeah . . . That's it! Congrats, Todd . . . you have done well!

nice bit of glass work doyle, maybe consider for the next one a darker material for the base, its just a tad too white for the subject, if you see what i mean,. much regards art,. sorry to come back to you with a critique, its how i see it :¬)

Doyle D. Chastain   {K:99839} 8/28/2007

Oh Art! Never apologize for an honest critique! Bad form! ;)

I actually appreciate accurate and fair critiques! ( *lip quiver* ), you know? ( *sniff* )

LoL! I don't necessarily agree with it but always like to hear it. In this case I think the antique glass owl is a tad too yellowed to make a great subject and the lighting might be off a tad. It was actually just experimenting so any actual thoughts are always appreciated!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
