About Some yurts by the lakeside. I slept in a yurt similar to these ones during my stay at Karakul. For the full story on this lake, see some of my previous uploads of this region.

Great photo! Nice reflection of the lake, you could use this photo upside down! :)

Hi Camila. thanks, actually I had two bottles of red wine the night before, and felt quite upside down while taking these photos.

Warmest regards ~ James

WOW fabulous composition James. They blend right into the landscape in such a humble way....I feel so extravagant in my life style at present. How's the back after a night in the yurt?...lol

* James *   {K:20200} 9/8/2007
hey tim. my back was fine (i have problems usually the first night on a new bed though). you do need to be careful of who's in the yurt with you. i had the guy i was traveling with on one side of me, and our driver on the other side, and i mean right beside me. and both sawed a forest of logs that night lol. i ended up going for a walk outside at 4am and just stayed out till the sun came up. i'm a light sleeper.

Excellent shot, ok, the reflection is GREAT as the water was very waveless and so almost like a mirror, BUT the most importante element here is the buildings, that really imprese me! unusual for sure!
I like also the empty ground, after some meters away from the water of the lake, strong area, almost like a desert of rocks at the back however people trying to have a life there even with...nothing around them... excellent shot, and difficult too, needs A LOT from the photographer before the "clic"
