Stunning color in this shot John!! This is only due to the sandstorm? But you should have storm everywhere wich such atmosphere!!

John Hatz   {K:139710} 8/30/2007
thanks a lot Fabrice for your kind comment...actualy not about generaly storms, when we have strong wind from Africa there are some days you can see the yellow clouds and IF it rain...you must clean everything...but that was the first time that cloud cames from Africa sooooo closed to the ground so cover almost all over Greece, south Italy and even some more areas from other countries, my island is no far away from Sahara...:-)

Gerhard Busch   {K:11929} 8/30/2007
The successful subject mediates the impression as if soon a thunderstorm will come. Sincerely Gerhard

thanks a lot Shadi for your kind comment, well I know if you also have that weather... Crete is a big island of Mediteranian sea and at the south...at about 150 miles away is Sahara...so we have time to time sand from there...again thanks dear friend!

John Hatz   {K:139710} 8/30/2007
thanks a lot Gerhard...no thunderstorm after that, just wind and....dizzy eyes hehehehe....that colors was for about 5 hours but my eyes was dizzy for some days after that... lol little bit more and we could forget the colors hahaha...

G P   {K:9768} 8/30/2007
Beautiful work, John, is this shape of sepia is results from fires?
Bravo my friend this one is one of your best exposures!!
All the best to you!!!
Cheers,
Harry

John Hatz   {K:139710} 8/30/2007
thanks a lot Harry....nop...there wasn't any fire...just we are closed to Sahara desert and when the wind cames from there it gives us a bit of Sahara's ground hahaha....however that day was the strongest sandstorm even...and don't think that was strong wind...not sooooo strong, but our eyes was duzzled even some days after that...and EVEN that was for only about 5 hours...

sarah motallebi   {K:1759} 8/30/2007

John Hatz   {K:139710} 9/2/2007
thanks a lot Mahassa...yeap, real! Crete island and Sahara desert are NOT sooooooo away places...when the wind cames from Sahara (south wind) with a specific way it cames with some dust on it...that day was only one in my life...with so yellow weather...

John Hatz   {K:139710} 9/2/2007
thanks a lot dear Liz for your kind comment!

Dave Arnold   {K:55551} 9/2/2007
wow, I thought sure ypu had tinted this yellow for effect. That is something else. I would think it would be rare for this to happen, what kind of sand does this island have/ I can't imagine you have got that much.... not like I do, though this year has been nearly sandstorm free with all the rain.

Dave

John Hatz   {K:139710} 9/2/2007
thanks a lot Dave for your kind comment...
That weather cames time to time...but its difficult to see so strong yellow weather... that happen only once in my life... every year, some days looks softly yellow, that is because when we have winds that cames from south (that means from Africa and so ...Sahara) with some special way that wind takes sand with it and that sand can be at south Europe, Greece, Italy mostly and some times even Spain, Bulgary, Romania, Serbia...
not bad fealling on eyes (not so big sand) but tastes funny and somehow the atmospher smells too...

jacques brisebois   {K:55139} 9/2/2007
