Yes brigitte It did turn out pretty well.There are some superb colours in there and there are no reflections from the flash. Well done.

That's pretty darn good for your first flashlight, Brigitte. Did you learn any lessons? One big thing I have learned is to make sure you keep the flashlight moving... but on a small object like this, one flash and it should cover it all.
This will probably be 50 times better than most images you see of sale stuff on E Bay.
Did you use a back drop on this or is that just night?

Hi Dave, thanks for your kind comments. Nope, no lessons learned yet. I did actually move the flashlight around the subject while exposed to the film.. I didn't want a blown out section, so I was aware of that... it was actually fun! It was my very first time trying it and I was rather pleased with the result. I did try it again on a 100+ year old piece of art glass but got poor results. I set the flashlight over the opening of the vase letting the light shine through to the bottom and that did turn out better but not as good as I had hoped. I may get a small lighted pedistal to set some art glass on and try it again. The background I used was a large piece of black velvet fabric.

Hey Danny, thanks so much for your kind comments. That was one of my biggest problems when shooting some object for my eBay auction listings...the dreaded glaring reflections or hot spot on the object from the bright flash. I do have a cloth light tent with two lights over it, but that doesn't seem to provide very good results and I still end up having to use the flash from my camera, but that is just too bright. The flashlight seems to be just the right amount of light for a pleasing effect.
