About ...but with a whimper.

Atlanta, Georgia skyline before sunrise as my flight was descending on approach.
This major, bustling city is almost out of water, with just a few months left.

Then what?

Gee, looks like something out of a doomsday movie... the after-effects of some nuclear explosion... I thought at first, how did you find a hill in Atlanta... then it dawned on me you probably were in a building. With tinted glass?

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 10/28/2007
Actually, Dave, I was on approach to Hartsfield.

Dave Arnold   {K:55672} 10/28/2007
ah ha! That explains a lot.

You must not have had the same flight attendant as I did or you'd be in Gitmo now for wielding a camera on an airplane.

:)

so shootin' from inside a plane is still allowed,or you palmed the flight attendant a Benjamin?...hehehe

Love the hazy pano of HotLanta!...on my monitor i see an embossed texture over the image...filter in your new CS program?

cheers,gayle

Paul Lara   {K:86876} 10/29/2007
There's no embossed texture, it's just sensor noise. I had to shoot at ISO 3200 as the sun hadn't even risen yet.

Noise is great! Lovely shot Paul - the noise added a lot of mood to this!

dear paul,
so this shows, you better always be prepared. the result of this "emergency" camera setting is a great silhouette that would have taken lots of preps in the film days. today we simply overpower out digitals or add some ps effect, and there we are!
great work. good you were awake already.
best regards
