wow !! this must be on the other side of the airport?? we stayed in the Lato Boutique Hotel when we were in Crete.. terrific.. we loved the island.. more than Santorini which we felt was overrated.. my shots of Crete start about here
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rojpix/page7/

John Hatz   {K:143808} 12/23/2007
thanks a lot Roger for your kind comment!
that is a side of the old port of Heraklion, that is about 5Km away from the airport, that day we had some weather problems... Sahara is very big and many times sand cames from there to all over Greece and genaraly south Europe, but that day was a very special day, the weather was the stronger than every other day... that weather was about 5 hours and after that my eyes blink as I ...almost has forget the colors!!!!!

John Hatz   {K:143808} 12/23/2007
I see your photos...believe it or not, I never have being to Knossos hahahahaha.... am I bad or what!!! :-D

Mary Brown   {K:68550} 2/2/2008
It is really interesting tha this is the real colour. What a lovley filter it makes. The masts of the boats add a wonderful vertical element.
MAry

John Hatz   {K:143808} 2/2/2008
hallo Mary...
thanks for your comment...
hehehe... yeap, the place I live is a bit...too closed to Sahara desert... island of Crete, middle Medditeranian sea! only about 200 miles away from Africa and so just a good wind needed to...taste the sand! :-D
