About In shiphandling this is formally known as Formation Delta, also referred to as the Diamond formation. It can be real tough to accomplish when vessels are engine powered, but while under sail it is a real bitch. It was accomplished with diminishing winds in restricted waters where manuvering room was in very short supply. This is a mark of extremely competent, professional seamanship. I used both a tripod and a cable release due to the lens/film combination. Due to the overcast sky, the exposure was metered using an off-the-camera meter. PS for cropping only.
