It could have been also microscopy, mehul, and especially that monochromatic look adds much to this rather "scientific" attitude. But the grace of the curves depicted with such a good contrast returns my mind to nature as it exists out there. Perhaps this is the strength of this one: The very expression of perhaps the strongest way to see nature: Science!
