Fantastic mood my friend!!

Brigitte R.   {K:19166} 11/29/2007
You are right, this is a great find. I often come here to get away from the city and have driven by this so many times. Recently I found a few published photographs of this boat and last weekend I decided I would walk over to it specifically to photograph it. I am glad I did now... I didn't know it would turn out so well. Thank you for the lovely comment, Alain.

Well, you'll just have to make a return trip so you can properly place some colored gels and illumate her nice and perdy from within! That would be awesome!! :-)

Brigitte R.   {K:19166} 11/29/2007
Thank you very much, Hussam!! :-)

Something of a classic scene. Good to see some new images on the front page - congrats on getting this one there!

You've CC'd this but I'm not sure I can find anything to suggest. Really pushing it, I could comment on the hint of a curve of water (or shadow?) just along the bottom of the shot which I would prefer to be grass, but this is an extremely minor point that does not detract from the image.

Brigitte R.   {K:19166} 11/30/2007
Hi AJ, thanks for the kind comment. I was so thrilled when I got the email about the DOD Award, I almost fell out of my chair! lol It's my very first one here.

You are right... that was my nit-pick also... I was trying to figure out how that dark area got in the foreground because I don't recall it being there when I was photographing the scene. I considered cropping it out but then the image wouldn't look very balanced. I suppose I could have lightened the area in PSP, but like you said, it wasn't that much of a distraction, so I just left it. At least I know I'm not the only one who noticed it. Hope you are doing well... I need to look at your portfolio soon... I've been away from here for a few weeks - gotta catch up now :)

Warm regards,
Brigitte

Brigitte R.   {K:19166} 12/1/2007
Thank you kindly, Rick! Your words are appreciated!

If you want to get there... it is located near Point Reyes Nat'l Seashore, in the town of Inverness. Look up "Vladmir's Czech Restaurant" (which by the way is an experience in itself along with the great food) on google and the boat is located right across the street from there in the Tomales Bay. Hope you get a chance to make it out there... lots of fine photographic scenery to be found there.

Best regards,
Brigitte

Brigitte R.   {K:19166} 12/1/2007
AJ, you got me wanting to figure out what the dark foreground could possibly be and you were right on... it's water! Interesting how I didn't even remember it until I went and looked at some of my other photos.

Here's one of them: http://www.usefilm.com:80/Image.asp?ID=1381258

Brigitte R.   {K:19166} 12/1/2007
Hey Deb, that's a very fine compliment coming from someone who's photographs I admire tremendously! Thank you! Speaking of the POV, have you seen this one by our friend Dave Arnold... it's amazing!
