The profile of the man is an excellent contour against the background, and it does so only because of the declining luminance intensity that starts quite bright at the left, and falls to very dark in the region of his profile. It is this shadow that makes the plasticity of the face visible and separates it from the background.

The face is much less focused at the left, but this time this doesn't seem to suffer weaker expression, since it adds some more abstract look and feel because of the "newspaper articles". What could that be? Ideas, perception, thoughts that start quite futty and at the end supply the necessary personality - the dtrong contour and profile? It seems to be something like that. And still the ideas and thoughts at the "back of mind" are not exactly definable. Much like thinking about the own self and finding out at the end that... one can't fully understand the own self.

A very different, very special approach.

Nick

Molto interessante il punto di ripresa che ben evidenzia l'incidenza dei caratteri di stampa dei giornali.

Interessante.

Ciao.

Hi Diego!

Yes, such artists do really impressive work that hits me like a thunder too. Much stronger than any "hymnes to beauty", such works have to do with mind! A very hard territory, but you got it quite well.

All the best,

Nick
