Hi Kes,
I'm not sure how you did this but it definitely is interesting. It looks like it might be a shot of the surface of a pond? But why is that area on the left white?
Andre

Kes     {K:18434} 12/6/2007
Hi Andre!

Yes, it is another pond shot!

The white area is a reflection of a cloud in the sky. So in looking down you see up, or equal opposites! :) The "color" side is actually in the shadows under a small foot bridge and the underwater (opposite the sky!) cattails are lit by the evening sun (opposite of cloudy! yet the same sky - equal! :):)) coming in under the water's surface from the opposite (again!) side of the bridge.

Did you catch the equal and opposite theme? Ok, I'll give it a rest. Seriously though, it seems photography is all about equal and opposites...black/white, light/dark, - contrasts - and so forth. And so on. :)

I was just about to delete this and post a version with a bit more "zing", but as you have already commented I guess I'll leave it alone.

Happy Hanukah!
Kes

Hi Kes,
Okay, I see how you did it now. I think you're really stretching the explanation of the equal and opposite theme though :)
Still a good image. I think it will do well because of the curiosity factor. And it just plain looks good.
