Wow this looks great Dwight! I love the colors, I thought at first you must have shot a stained-glass window to start with, and was wondering how you got it so vivid! The crayons were a great idea.

Dani, Hello my friend! Thank you very much for the comment.
First I did a custom white balance off a gray card using manual mode with my D200. This gets the colors perfect with no colorcast from other lighting.
I then shot the crayons and using Photoshop CS2 working in the raw convertor adjusted the saturation to what was pleasing to my eye, cropped and applied a sharpening effect.
Went to filters and then applied a liquefy effect with a large brush. Pushed colors and worked till I was happy with the effect. I will include the raw to jpeg conversion without the crop or effects for comparison.

Now, that is how my mind feels sometimes. I really like what you have done here. The shadowing adds a 3D type effect and it has a wonderfully happy feeling to it. Great work. The vibrant colours are awesome.
