A very very distinct idea in a monochrom look that stands in complete contradiction to the rather cool composition (if one imagines this in normal colors). I think that this is exactly what provides the tension!
Also, the very strong dynamics make it worth to look at over an over again! From strong light to complete darkness, everything is present here. And in the middle of that light/shadow struggle, a human being exists, that somehow doesn't seem to care a lot, and somehow does seem to care about what is happening in this world.
I'd only like to see some more details of the building at the other side. It is overexposed now, but I guess that correcting the exposure would make the shadows in the room much too strongt.
