About "Cliché" : Who can pass by this place with his camera and tripod, and don't take picture ? even WITHOUT his tripod ?
This is maybe the most pictured place of Paris, after the tour Eiffel.
So, don't blame me to not be able to resist to another cliché of this famous place.
Maybe the project could be "Pictures of famous places"... But I like the opposition of the pyramid with the reflection, and with the old and impressive front of the Louvre.

Great graphism in this photo, old and new combined in a terrific nightshot ! And no cliché to me, these places are eternal.. ;-)

Sure it's a cliche, , but what a cliche, and you're right who can resist it (I've even got one in my portfolio). You've done a great job with this scene it's perfectly balanced and exposed.
Regards, Gary

I am sure this pyramid has been shot millions of times, but it still looks beautiful.. :)

Wish you and your family a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a fabulous New Year ahead, my dear Aline !!

Aline Nedelec   {K:1067} 12/24/2007
Yes, Avi, Dizains of Millions of times ...

Here in France, we are going to have a very traditional Christmas diner, with Champagne, Oysters, Foie-Gras and Bordeaux. Near the fire-place.
I hope you the same kind of pleasure around your family - To be honest I have no idea an India-native american is doing in the Bronx a Christmas-evening :-)
My best Wishes, Avi, and thanks for your support and your beautiful pictures.

You call it Cliché, but I particularly like this shot; very well executed and ingenious composition. I would have wished for a slightly bluer sky, but we can't have everything.

Ciprian

Cliche' or not, great shot, Aline, and congratulations!

It is a great shot of a great place. Photographing epic buildings is a necessity, yet,the ability to come away with a shot that is not 'cliche' is not easy. I try it often. You succeeded here.

Best wishes for the New Year....

Congrats for the Awards

I do wonder what the pyramid sympbolizes in this context but I'm sure building this geometrical steel cage next to the old Louvre stuff must have generated fierce and bloodied fights among the French. The picture is a bit of a shock at first as they don't "go" well together but you get used to the contrast quickly. Beautiful night image, would like to see it for myself one day.

Well I think it works great for the project and as you can see you have choosen correctly. Great Night Shot. And fantastic details. The refelction of the pyramide make it work even more better and it looks magical. The flairs in the street lamps work perfectly too. In all this is an awesome capture of this famous place and is worth the award. Congrats.
Happy New Year.
