It is funny to listen to all those people talking about "architecture" and "high quality of life" in Zurich, without even knowing anything about the underlying principles, the different styles, the characters that are marbled in stone, what they did, why they are there... No, in Zurich you find only perfectly styled ignorants that smile at the sun, speak out some mixture of "liking" and stupidity, and think that this is "culture". Of course, culture jumps automatically on somebody just because he/she *likes* something without any attempt for further thinking. ;-)
I'd be glad for any comments - but please, not the Zurich way. ;-)

Without "thinking" too much about it, Nick, I like your capture of this architecture and the detail, made by someone in a bygone era, but fortunately preserved for us to enjoy centuries later.

Paul, thanks a lot for the hint, and surely I would travel to Las Vegas if my economy were reasonable for doing that. I have seen many photos of that place that allow me some kind of conclusion about the ignorance that is sold as "quality" or even "culture". And I must laugh inside about the fact that those guys think that just copying a greek or roman column is enough for demonstrating some higher level of culture - what a joke!

Many thanks for the nice comment, Dave, that was more thoughtful than it sounds.
The thing is that you never try to appear like some kind of connoiseur but really say what you simply like, while those individuals in Zurich think that their "liking" is automatically the best of all culture that could ever be perceived.
Between the two attitudes I prefer yours for its simplicity and sincerity, you know.
