About This is a shot of me after hiking to the Torres del Paine. It was a hike in of about 10 km with a killer last km of close to straight up through huge bolders, talus and some scree. All of it granitic glacial morain. Thank goodness the sky stayed broken and no storm decended after that hike......wait....now we got 10km back! This was close to Debbie,s limits, but she was a trouper, we just took our time.

I am also writing a blog on the trip for www.acdsee.com the photo software company if you are interested in checking it out. It is still in process I am adding more everyday.

Tim...that is too cool! What is the best time of the year to go there in your opinion???

Tim  Schumm   {K:27167} 12/30/2007
Well we just came back from there 2 weeks ago and it was amazing. But I have been in this area but on the Argentina side in the fall...in April and it was much more colorful and very few tourists. Either would be good. But for my money I would prefer April- may for the stunning colors and lower light.

worth while the fantastic view there.

oh yeah one more thing...Chile is way more expensive to be at. You could see both sides of the Patagonia by flying into El Cheltan and renting a car (cheap). Then driving to El Calafate for the Fitz Roy Range of mountains then if you like come back and drive to Torres del Paine dropping by at Perito Morereno Glacier enroute. The driving down there is fantastic with all sorts of animals everywhere you look. If you look back a few pages you will see images of all these places in my portfolio. Argentina is inexpensive and the people are very friendly. Hope you have a chance to go!

Wow, what an outstanding image. I love the pose but I think a little more fill flash would have really made you pop a lot more.I bet this gets put on the wall or may be a desk or two.
Just fantastic Tim. A true 7 if I ever saw one...Bravo!!!
