What an idea! The people are low-key and the background high-key, and this gives the impression of some kind of "other place" while it could also have been simply a very sunny day behind that huge window! But no matter what kind of place it is, it looks like utopia - like an ordinary scene from a not so ordinary world, where... and here comes any interporetation one could imagine.
The strength of this one is not that it conveys something certain. It is its uncertainty, but through that also huge number of possible ways of understanding. It is very exact considering realism, but still has the abstract element at exactly the right place for raising it beyond simple depiction.
A great start for the new year, Avi! I must print that out and hang it on the wall over my desk!
