This is something that I wish I were able to accomplish more often, Avi! The limited view of just some steps ahead while walking with a head full of thoughts in the night, but with the specific coloring of the night deep blue. The inclusion of the series of lamps and much of the street makes the direction very tangible with the leading lines into depth. And the enhancement of the lower parts suggests the typical turn of ones head/sight downward when stepping and thinking.

It is such images that say so much, in a city, on a street, in the middle of so many other people, and still on the own sometimes welcome isolation thoughts. And sometimes also with some friends, heading for the next nice pub, ey? ;-)

It is deeply human in its own ways, Avi!

Cheers!

Nick

Avi     {K:67818} 1/11/2008
Thank you SO MUCH, Nick. If EVER I have an exhibit, you will be my guest of honour.. no, wait.. you will be my BEST friend and chief organiser of the show.. so that you will be able to explain people about my photographs.

I could never do it so well myself.

Here's a BIG CHEERS to you !!!

Avi     {K:67818} 1/11/2008
Also, on a second thought, (as Soumya suggested here) what do you feel about an empty beer can/bottle lying in the forground, as an addendum to this composition ?

Marian Man   {K:73941} 1/11/2008
blue and beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
Marian

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127014} 1/11/2008
Avi, believe me, you *will* exhibit! It's matter of time, so get it in your head already now my friend! Just keep on shooting, OK? And I *will* be there as the buddy that always has another flask for after the show. ;-)

As about the empty can of beer, or bottle, or whatever... well, if you can put it as seemlessly as it gets there, then just do it! I couldn't do that with my current selection/copy/paste skills in PS, but if you can do that, then do that! But it has to be seemless much like the never noticed details of some street on which we step each and every day. I'd feel uncomfortable with the idea of some additional detail that invades the very subtle silence of my mental stepping into the scene, since here it is the scene with no particular detail that invaded me myself, you know. Still, quite a personal view of things.

But as a sidenote, it is such scenes that remind me of Bon Jovi!

Hey, man I'm alive,
I'm takin' each day and night at a time,
I'm feelin' like a Monday
but someday I'll be Saturday night.

So, much carefullness is needed to not turn this subtle scene into Fantasia-Land, but I guess you know that already, or else you wouldn't shoot that like this, Avi.

Cheers to you again, and hey! Be careful of low lying empty bottles, ey?

Nick

Avi     {K:67818} 1/12/2008
Nick, I wasn't talking of adding a bottle with PS.. I was more thinking of going back and re-shooting.. but now, I guess, let's leave it as it is.. :)

what do you say, mate ?

H P   {K:1372} 1/12/2008
very nice blue shades. I love Jazz. I like Kenny Burell. best regards.

Avi     {K:67818} 1/12/2008
To tell you the truth, I haven't. I picked the name from wikipedia. Thanks for liking it !! :)

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127014} 1/14/2008
Oh, now I understand you, Avi!

Well, you could also try that - I guess it would be a nice additional enhancing hint toward the street atmosphere. But then perhaps one that doesn't invade the image too strongly. I guess that if you manage to keep the uniform blueish lighting, it would give the image a more "authentic" character.

Also some old papers on the street along with some old can of beer could work well.

OK, go get out! Get on the street again, and give us some original, unspoiled street flair!

Cheers,

Nick

Avi     {K:67818} 1/15/2008
Yup... U bet I will !! :)

Nick Karagiaouroglou   {K:127014} 1/16/2008
Yeah, waiting for you with an opened bottle! ;-)
